Photoshop fails happen, but when something as egregious as erasing the existence of people's knees starts occurring, it's time to really asses where we're at.
Social media queens and models Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid are the latest victims of photoshop. While the cover of W Magazine's 10th anniversary art issue is artistically strange, the main thing that stands out is the lack of joints.

Kendall's rocking only one knee while it looks as if Gigi has lost both of hers. Ouch.
But then things get really weird when you look closer and realize there is a phantom hand floating on Gigi's shoulder, just casually hanging out—not to mention the two arms waving Tecate beers in the background.

What. Is. Going. On.
W Magazine explained on Instagram that the cover and shoot for the Art Issue with the two models is meant to transform the two into "super friendly, domesticated humanoid pets." That would explain the woman who looks like a dog in the right-corner of the cover.

“There’s a certain power that animals have over us when they respond to us in unexpected, friendly ways,” explained artist Ryan Trecartin, who worked with Lizzie Fitch for the commissioned shoot.
“And it’s really them domesticating us almost more than us domesticating them, because they’re training us to want them. Training and taming something is not one-sided," he said. "We created social media, but then it changed us because we interacted with it."
Society is definitely changing thanks to social media and the internet, but as one Twitter user pointed out, Photoshop is also doing some altering—particularly when it comes to the way we think about body image.
